Mister Wales 2011
Rhodri is our winner
Eighteen-year-old Rhodri Ihenacho from Cardiff was crowned Mister Wales last night at a sell out event in St David’s Hall.
He has made history as the youngest Mister Wales ever after taking the top spot over 19 other young men from across the country.
Rhodri said: “Through taking part in Mister Wales I have met so many interesting people. The boys who were on the stage with me are going to be great friends. I am so looking forward to representing my country, and I am very grateful to the judges for making me Mister Wales.”
Rhodri is a boarder at Monmouthshire Boys School and plays wing in the school rugby team. He is also a good singer having recently won Monmouthshire’s Got Talent.
Rhodri has just completed A levels in Physics, Biology and Art and is planning to go to university in the autumn to study business management.
As part of the Miss World ethos of Beauty with A Purpose, the Miss and Mister Wales contestants raised just under £90,000 for the competition’s chosen charity, The Joshua Foundation, which provides life experiences for children with cancer and their families.
The Miss and Mister Wales final was the biggest in history with more contestants taking part than ever before. The three-day event also involved a charity ball and an empowerment day, which saw all the contestants walk barefoot over burning hot coals.
